England midfielder Fabian Delph has returned home from the FIFA World Cup 2018 to be with his wife, who is expected to give birth to their third child.
Delph, on Friday, took a flight from Kaliningrad after playing against Belgium, who won their third and final group game 1-0 to top Group G.
The 28-year-old Delph's wife Natalie's due date is June 30.
"We are about to have a third child and I am not about to miss it if I can help it but I want to get back as fast as I can we will have to see," Delph had said earlier this month.
He is expected to fly back after the birth and join his England teammates as the 1966 world champions look to book a place in the quarter-finals with a win over Colombia on Tuesday.
He thanked coach Gareth Southgate for giving permission for his return to be with his wife.
"Gareth Southgate has been fantastic; there is nothing more important than my family for me," said Delph.
Meanwhile Southgate has confirmed there is no injury to central defender John Stones who was taken off at half time of England's defeat to Belgium.
