It's an open secret that MS Dhoni asked the Indian team management to pick younger players in place of few senior players in India's limited-overs sides after he took over the captaincy of the team.
The change in approach also led to many stories of how the decision led to rift between Dhoni and few senior players. One of the players who was rumoured to have a poor relationship with former skipper was Virender Sehwag.
The rumours first emerged after Sehwag was benched in the favour of Yusuf Pathan for World T20 final against Pakistan. The opening batsman, who was a Team India regular for the major part of his career, witnessed a decline in the chances offered to him after the 2011 World Cup. He was also later ignored from the probables list for 2015 World Cup.
However, since retiring Sehwag has refuted the claims but some fans still believe the rumours.
On Saturday, Sehwag put out a special message for Dhoni as the wicketkeeper-batsman turned 37.
Sehwag wrote: "Happy Birthday MS Dhoni .May your life be longer than this stretch and may you find happiness in everything, faster than your stumpings. Om Finishaya Namaha!"
