England have slowly started believing that 'Football's coming home'. On Saturday, as Harry Maguire and Dele Alli scored a header each against Sweden, England reached the last four of the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
Football is a game that is dearly loved in England, yet they have only a single World Cup to show for all that love.
Since almost the beginning of the tournament in Russia, fans have been joking about the World Cup coming 'home'.
From memes to uncanny similarities from 1996, when England won the World Cup, to various permutations and combinations being met, it has been trending throughout.
But as Gareth Southgate's men have kept marching on, fans have truly started to believe in the theories and they are not jokes anymore.
From fans and former players to the current players, there is an increasing belief that England can win the World Cup this time.
Led by the charismatic and leading goalscorer of the tournament Harry Kane, England have showed steel, ability, fighting spirit and fearlessness to grab hold of the trophy.
In the quarter-finals, England defeated Sweden 2-0 to make it to the semi-finals and fans in England came to the streets to celebrate the achivement of their lads.
Former England player now pundit Rio Ferdinand even tweeted after the match saying, "It's official... Football's Coming Home Again!! Big respect to the @england team & Gareth! Wanna see the scenes back home... tag me people! Love it #ENG."
